Loews Portofino Bay Resort Orlando, Florida
It’s bittersweet, summer vacation is over. We had a great time on our “staycation”, but it’s also nice to be back home with the kids on back to school.
For our little staycation, we decided to stay over at Loews Portofino Bay Resort. I must say that this is so far my favorite place to stay in the Universal, Orlando area.
First off, no complaints about the rooms, bed, bathrooms, furniture, etc. It was clean, no nasty smells, stains, or anything like that. It was nice and it did its job. We say that because we were hardly in the room. Most of our time was spent enjoying the rest of the resort!
The resort is HUGE! It sports 3 swimming pools, one being exclusively for adults. We spent most of our time in the main pool because it had a slide and we enjoyed playing beach volleyball. There are a lot of indoor and outdoor areas to hang out and chill as well.
There are several restaurants, small shops, and eateries. Although we didn’t get to experience all of the restaurants in the resort, what we did try was good. The resort connects to other resorts for you to explore and different places to eat, which is exactly what we did.
The highlight that kind of sets this place apart is the boat ride that goes back and forth to City Walk. At night, the city lights reflecting on the water made for a magical moment.
We will definitely plan another stay there. Portofino, check it out if you’re planning on staying in the Universal Orlando area.
